French pastry chef Franck Monnier is the founder of L'Atelier Gourmet. He has made his reputation by fusing his classic French training with ingredients and flavor of the new world.

Born in Rouen, Normandy from a lineage of restaurateurs Monnier knew very early on that he wanted to pursue a culinary career and decided to focus his talents on his first love – pastry.

From an early age, Monnier was given the opportunity to gain experience from 3-Star Michelin restaurants to the famous Fauchon in Paris where he worked alongside Chef Pierre Hermé. Throughout his career, he managed pastry departments within different Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts acquiring a true understanding of the needs of luxury establishments. He chose to leave Four Seasons and launch his own venture in ice-cream thus in 2007, Monnier founded L’Atelier Gourmet.

Monnier earned numerous awards and honorary memberships including L’Academie Culinaire de France. Monnier is a highly sought-after consultant for luxury establishments, publications, and food & wine festivals all over the world.
